The authors, researchers at the University of Texas and Society for Cinema and Media Studies focused on several aspects of many nostalgia films during the 1970s and 1980s. This article refers to the “Rock ‘n’ Roll” soundtracks and examines their beliefs. The use of such music must be understandable by putting some light on movies like “The Graduate (1967)” and “Easy Rider (1969)”. The soundtracks used in these movies mark the link of music with nostalgia. Since nostalgia is an effective feeling for the past, in the film The Graduate, songs that were already recorded by Simon and Garfunkel were used. Therefore, people already had an association with these tracks and they lead to a nostalgic feeling.
