The authors, researchers at the University of Texas and Society for Cinema and Media Studies focused on a different aspect of many nostalgia films from the 1970s and 1980s. This aspect refers to the “Rock ‘n’ Roll” sound tracks to examine their beliefs. The use of such music must be understandable by putting some light on movies like “The Graduate (1967)” and “Easy rider (1969)”. The sound tracks used in these movies mark the link of music with nostalgia. Since nostalgia is an affective feeling for the past, in the movie The Graduate, songs that were already recorded by Simon and Garfunkel were used. Therefore, people already had an association with these songs and they lead to a nostalgic feeling.
