Casa Batllo

Casa Batllo is the building which is considered as one of the most famous icons. It is renowned building which is located in the center of is the city of Barcelona. This magnificent building is considered as one of the masterpieces of Antoni Gaudi identified by Ferrer (2015).According to Gómez, Cavalaro & Aguado (2014), the model of the house was re-built and re-designed by Gaudi in the year 1904. After re-modeling and re-designing the house has been refurbished a lot of times.As per the discussion of Dino (2012), Gaudi’s assistants also contributed in re-designing of the house and in renovating the whole project. Casa dels ossos  is the local name of the house which means “House of Bones” as the structure of the house refers to skeletal and visceral organic quality. However, in the broader sense, the designs of Gaudi are identified as Art Nouveau or Modernisme (Velimirović, Cvetković & Velimirović, 2012). Particularly, the ground floor of the house has remarkable tracery, flowing sculpted work of stone and irregular windows in oval shape. From the findings of Veenendaal & Block (2012) it has been found that the major part of the façade of Casa Batllo is adorned with colorful mosaics made up of pieces of ceramic tiles. The roof of the house is arched and has been linked to the back of dinosaur or a dragon. The Batllo family purchased this marvelous building for approximately 500,000 pesetas that is equivalent to 3000 Euros.
