HAEMAGGLUTINATION IMMUNOLOGY

Hemagglutination phenomenon is about usually used for diagnosis of infection produced by Orthomyxoviruses, paramyxoviruses, and the abroviruses-togaviruses (including rubella), flaviviruses, and bunyaviruses. HA apply the process of haemagglutination, in which sialic acid receptors on the surface of red blood cells (RBCs) bind to the haemagglutinin glycoprotein found on the surface of the antigen(virus), or lattice structure, of interrelated RBC’s and virus particles.
