Policies related to levy of tax on sugar is an on-going debate among the public, government officials and health authorities to reduce the consumption of sugar sweeten beverages and other sugar related items. Sugar tax is the tax proposed to be imposed by the National Health Services and Public Health England. As per the statistics, sugar consumption across all age groups is more than the daily recommended limit, i.e. 10%, by the government (House of Parliament, 2015).
